A coronary flow meter is a device used to measure the amount of blood flowing through the coronary arteries. The device is inserted into an artery in the arm and a small balloon is inflated inside the artery. As blood flows by, it pushes against the balloon and creates a pulse that can be measured. Electromagnetic blood meter is a diagnostic device that measures the electrical potential of human blood by means of an electromagnetic field. It does not require any physical contact with the patient and hence provides greater accuracy as compared to other invasive methods for measuring hemoglobin such as venipuncture or lancing a boil-able skin.

Ultrasonic blood flowmeter is a non-invasive device used to measure the blood volume and it's function as an alternative or companion diagnostic tool for invasive methods such as coronary angiography. Ultrasonic blood flowmeters are most commonly used in patients suffering from stable coronary artery disease, but they can also be used in patients with significant cardiovascular risk factors.
