Product Definition:
A corrugated air duct is a type of air duct that is made up of a series of metal or plastic ridges. This type of air duct is often used in industrial applications to move large volumes of air. The ridges on the surface of the duct help to increase the surface area, which allows for more airflow. Additionally, the corrugated design helps to deflects sound and vibrations away from the airstream, making it quieter than other types of air ducts.
PVC:
Polyvinyl Chloride or PVC is a thermoplastic polymer. It is produced from vinyl chloride and chlorine, along with other chemicals. The most common form of this product used in the manufacturing industry is referred to as “rigid” PVC, which can be further segmented into low-density polyethylene and high-density polyethylene based on different applications.
Aluminum:
Aluminum is a metal and has the highest melting point of any metal. It is soft and can be easily stamped into sheets. Aluminum alloys are used in air ducts for various functions including sealing, support, insulation, channeling & diverting air flow etc. The most commonly used aluminum alloy for corrugated air ducts includes 80:20%, 90:10%, and 95:5% aluminum-silicon which have high thermal conductivity & low thermal expansion properties respectively.
Application Insights:

Corrugated air ducts are widely used in commercial buildings on account of their ability to resist high moisture levels and temperature changes, which results in lesser maintenance requirements.

Their usage also reduces energy costs as it uses less energy for cooling or heating purposes compared with conventional systems such as natural ventilation, forced-air cooling, or heating systems using HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
