A cryogenic liquid tank is a container that holds a cryogenic liquid, such as helium, nitrogen, or oxygen. Vacuum Powder Insulation Tanks:
Vacuum powder insulation tanks are made up of high-performance materials, which provide thermal resistance and energy efficiency to the stored liquid. Vacuum powder insulated tanks offer a wide range of storage temperatures ranging from extremely low to very high temperature. The vacuum insulation tank is used in cryogenic liquid storage applications as it provides excellent thermal resistance and energy efficiency. Atmospheric Pressure Powder Insulation Tanks:
Atmospheric pressure powder insulation tanks and it's usage in cryogenic liquid tanks is a process where the insulating material is applied between two containers filled with gas or liquid. The application of such type of tank reduces the thermal conductivity between both containers resulting in less heat transfer rate from one side to other, which thereby increases the storage capacity for a given volume at low temperature.
Application Insights:
Liquid oxygen is used for cryogenics to preserve biological and medical specimens, food, water and other liquids at temperatures below -196oC. Liquid nitrogen is extensively used in the manufacturing industry for various processes including deep-freeze preparation, transportation of perishable foods and beverages as well as pharmaceuticals. It is also employed in the production of liquid helium that has numerous applications such as superconductivity research within MRI scanners. Liquid argon provides an inert gas environment suitable for maintaining sensitive electronic components free from damage due to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Other applications include preservation of biological samples at cryogenic temperatures or high altitudes wherein normal atmospheric pressure cannot be sustained owing to air pressure reduction caused by higher altitude or thinner air density respectively.
