Cyclamic acid is a colorless, water-soluble organic compound. It has a strong odor similar to that of vinegar and is highly corrosive. The substance exists in two forms - anhydrous and monohydrate. The anhydrous form of the chemical is hygroscopic with a pungent odor whereas the monohydrate form has no odor or taste owing to its solubility in water.
Sodium Cyclamate:
Sodium cyclamate is a salt formed by mixing together two compounds, one of which is an artificial sweetener and the other natural sugar found in plants. The product was first manufactured by Dr. synthesis chemical industry for commercial usage as a non-nutritive sweetener in products such as saccharin (1908) and cyclamate (1909).
