A Cyclo-olefin Polymer is a molecule made up of repeating units of cyclohexene, which is a hydrocarbon. It has important applications in the manufacture of plastics and other products.


COC:


COC is short for Cyclo-olefin and it's a type of polymers. It has high molecular weight which makes it less soluble in organic solvents but more soluble in water. COC is used to manufacture various products such as films, fibers, coatings & adhesives and elastomers (COPE). COPE is the largest application of this product followed by films & fibers.


COP:


COP is short for cyclo-olefin polymer. COPs are polymers of olefins and are produced by the catalytic hydrogenation of ethylene. The most common types of COP include High-density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Low-density Polyethylene (LDPE). They have a high molecular weight, which makes them useful in packaging applications such as food containers, milk cartons, etc.


Application Insights:


Bio diagnostics was the largest application segment in 2017 and is expected to witness significant growth over the forecast period. The product demand in bio diagnostics is projected to grow at a CAGR of XX% from 2018 to 2030 owing to its increasing use in blood glucose testing, viral diagnosis, cancer screening and other emerging applications.
