A diaphragm compressor is a type of gas compressor that uses a flexible diaphragm to compress the gas. The diaphragm is mounted in a cylindrical housing and moves up and down as the gas is compressed. Discharge Pressures:


Discharge pressure is the air pressure that can be tolerated by a compressor when it is running at its rated speed. It has two significant factors, namely flow and static pressures. The discharge pressure of a gas compressor can be determined with the help of an orifice plate installed in its discharge line. Orifices are circular and have a diameter proportional to the compression stroke; hence, they decrease asymptotically as they get closer to the centerline ofthecompressor.

Discharge pressure is the air pressure that is released when a pump discharges its contents. The discharge pressure of a diaphragm natural gas compressor is approximately 35-40MPa and it varies with the type of gas being compressed.


The discharge pressures are higher than atmospheric because they are generated by high-performance pumps, which have efficient suction lift mechanisms and low losses due to their highly streamlined impellers.
