This measurement can then be used to calculate the dissolved oxygen in saltwater at a particular location (depth, latitude, etc.).
Polarographic Probe:
The polarographic probe is a device used to measure dissolved oxygen in water. It works on the principle of light absorption by hemoglobin and then the amount of light absorbed can be measured to determine if there is any presence of dissolved oxygen in an organism. The measurement can also be done with the help of other probes that are similar to hemoglobin such as dextran or hematocrit.
