The liquid to be purified is heated at the bottom of the tower, causing it to vaporize. Plate Distillation Column:
The plate distillation column is a device used in the process of separation of volatile substances from a liquid. It is also known as the spirituous or spirit division column. The function performed by this device includes condensation and collection of vapors which are present in low concentration, usually 1-5% depending upon the application area. These collected vapors are then transferred to another vessel for further processing or use.

Packed Distillation Column:
Packed distillation column is also known as a cold-box or refrigerated column. It is used to separate liquids based on their boiling points. The packed distillation columns are made up of materials such as copper, aluminum and plastic. These packed distillation columns can be used in various types of systems such as rotary steam vacuum separation (RSV), counter-current infusion, cross-current infusion and co-current infusion systems among others.
