Oil-Soluble Drag Reducing Additives:


Oil-Soluble Drag Reducing Additives are additives that reduce the surface energy of a liquid, thereby lowering its drag. They can be either natural or synthetic in nature and can be used as individual components or in combination with one another. OSDRAAs are widely used to improve the flow characteristics of polymers and have been gaining importance owing to their ability to lower the hydrophobic effect which is observed when a polymer is exposed to an oil-based medium.
