Taping compounds are available in various forms including liquid, paste, and fluid; however, they can be categorized into two distinct types based on their functions which include cold-applied and hot-applied taping compounds.
Topping Compound:
Topping compound is a water-based polyurethane elastomeric material that is manufactured by reacting polyol (for example, styrene-butadiene) with diisocyanate. It has high resistance to abrasion and chemicals and provides an excellent surface finish when applied over fresh paint.
