Product Definition:
An electric iron is a household appliance that uses electricity to heat up and smooth out fabric. The importance of electric irons is that they make it easy to get rid of wrinkles in fabric without having to take them to a dry cleaner or Iron them by hand.
Dry Iron:
Iron ore is the main raw material used for manufacturing dry irons. It is available in two forms namely pellet form known as ferrous pellets and powder form known as ferrous powder. The other raw materials used are carbon, silicon, manganese, aluminum and phosphorous which are mixed according to the requirement of manufacturer.
Dry iron consists of three parts namely baseplate, plug and anode which can be replaced when damaged or worn out.
Steam Iron:
A steam iron is an appliance used for removing wrinkles from clothes and other textile materials. It consists of a small chamber containing water at the temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, which is generated by means of a coil inside the iron itself. The steam produced by this device has several benefits over dry heat; it does not cause any irritation to the skin like that produced by hot air irons, and also helps in faster drying as compared to those using heat only.
Application Insights:
The commercial application segment dominated the global electric iron market in 2017, accounting for more than 60.0% share of the total revenue.
