Electrical coolant pumps are used to transfer a low volume of liquid (water or antifreeze) at high speed and with minimum pressure loss. They are primarily used in air conditioning compressors, refrigeration systems, and heat pumps for removing the heat from an enclosed space. The pump is driven by a small motor which creates a vacuum through backward flow of the liquid thus creating an artificial low pressure inside the system.

Electrical coolant pumps are used to transfer a mechanical refrigerant from the heat exchanger to an air conditioning system. The working principle of these pumps is based on the compression of a refrigerant gas which acts as a mechanical compressor. These products are available in two forms including reciprocating and rotary.
