Product Definition:


Electroless plating is a type of electroplating that does not require an external electric current to form a coating on the surface being plated. Instead, an autocatalytic reaction between the substrate and reducing agent in the bath produces a metallic film. Electroless plating is used to deposit thin films of nickel, gold, silver and other metals on plastic or metal parts for engineering applications. It is also used as a final finish for decorative items such as jewelry.


Medium-Phosphorus Electroless Nickel:


Nickel is an alloy of pure nickel and metals such as copper, zinc or iron. It has applications in electrical contacts, stainless steel substitutes and superalloys. Nickel has high thermal stability and low electrical conductivity which makes it a suitable material for electroless plating. Electroless nickel finds its application in the automotive industry where it is used on various parts including batteries & switches, chassis components & engine parts to improve corrosion resistance properties of the metal surface coating.


Low-Phosphorus Electroless Nickel:


Low-Phosphorus Electroless Nickel (LPN) is a unique electroless plating formulation that contains an optimized ratio of soluble phosphates, stabilizers and other additives to provide the best possible performance in terms of low-phosphorus coating on metal surfaces. The product has been developed by specialty chemicals company CorrosionX over a decade ago as an alternative to conventional high phosphorus electroplating solutions.
