MLC:
MLC (Multiple Level Cell) is one of the most basic memory types used in an SSD. It uses two to four cells connected by a single data line and can only store a single bit of information at a time. As opposed to SLC (Single Level Cell), it has no overhead for garbage collection, wear & tear resistance and can be fully programmed & read instantly.
TLC:
TLC (Triple Level Cell) is a type of NAND flash memory used in solid state drives. It offers better performance and reliability as compared to two level cell technology. TLC uses three levels of cells, namely the word line, data line, and control gate. The number of TLC cells is determined by the size of the drive; for instance, a 2 TB drive has about 1 billion TLC cells while a 4 TB drive has about 2 billion TLC cells.
