Global Feed Carbohydrase Industry Outlook

Product Definition:

A feed carbohydrase is an enzyme that helps break down carbohydrates in feed so they can be more easily digested by livestock. This is important because it helps the animals get the nutrients they need from their food.

Liquid:

Liquid is a form of Carbohydrase enzyme which is used as an additive in animal feed. It helps to increase the digestibility and absorption of nutrients in animals, thus making it more effective for growth and yield. The liquid product also aids to reduce the number of passes through the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) thus reducing losses due to stomach acidity, intestinal gas and fermentation.

Dry:

Dry is a type of feed which has low moisture content and it is used to produce animal fodder. It helps in increasing the yield of crops by reducing lodging & damping, and provides better seed germination. The product also aids in improving soil fertility by adding essential nutrients back into the soil after they are removed during farming or lost as waste from agricultural fields.

The global dry feed market size was valued at USD 4,624 million in 2016.

Application Insights:

The others application segment accounted for the largest revenue share of over 30% in 2017. The demand for the product is expected to increase owing to its utilization in various food processing applications including bakery, confectionery and dairy products. Furthermore, it finds application as a preservative and an anti-oxidant agent in processed meat products such as bacon and ham.

Ruminants were estimated to be the largest feed sector across all regions accounting for a market share of 35% by volume in 2017. Ruminants are generally considered to be animals that have evolved specifically to consume grasses; these include cattle, sheep, goats among others (such as antelope). The consumption of ruminant¢â‚¬â„¢s feed has been rising significantly due largelyto their abilityto convert fibrous plant materials into high quality protein which is beneficial from both nutritional standpointand economic point of view i.e.

Regional Analysis:

North America dominated the global feed carbohydrase market in 2017. The region is expected to witness a CAGR of XX% over the forecast period, owing to high animal feed production and rising meat consumption in countries such as U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Asia Pacific is expected to be one of the fastest-growing regions during the forecast years on account of rapid economic growth in emerging countries such as China.

Europe also held a significant share in terms of revenue due mainlyto presenceof key manufacturers including BASF SE; Bunge; Cargill Inc.; Louis Dreyfus Company; Modern Meadow LLC.

Growth Factors:

  • Increasing demand for Feed Carbohydrase from the livestock industry as a result of increasing awareness about the benefits of Feed Carbohydrase in animal feed.
  • Growing demand for Feed Carbohydrase from the aquaculture industry due to its ability to improve fish growth and survival rates.
  • Rising demand for Feed Carbohydrase in developing countries due to its low cost and high nutritional value.
  • Increasing use of Feed Carbohydrase as a bio-stimulant in crop production, owing to its ability to improve plant growth and yield.
