95% Terephthalic Acid, also known as 95% tG or 95% Tergitol, is a glycolipid with the chemical formula (C8H22O2). It is a form of fatty acid that occurs naturally in plants and animals. It has been used as an analytical reagent for measuring lipid levels in biological membranes and tissues.


Other:


Other ingredients include preservatives, solvents and/or carriers. Preservatives are used to prevent the growth of microorganisms and thus help in enhancing the stability of the product. Solvents are used as binders for active ingredients or as diluents in topical applications such as ointments.


Application Insights:


Rice was the largest application segment in 2017 and accounted for over 92% of the total demand. The product is widely used to prevent fungal infections caused by Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, oryzae and Phytophthora parasitica in rice cultivation. It also has applications as a soil drench on non-host crops such as maize, soybean and cotton to control brown stem rot disease.


The other major application includes forestry & woodworking products wherein it is used for controlling powdery mildew infection on conifers such as pine, spruce and fir trees. It can be applied either directly into the tree trunk or into the foliage via backpack sprayers owing to its low toxicity towards humans.
