It has high magnetic properties and can be used as an alternative to soft magnetic materials such as neodymium, samarium, and ceramics. Permanent ferrite usually has low saturation flux density but it can be used with other materials to increase the saturation flux density which makes it suitable for use in transformers where high permeability is required.
