Below 300 psi, it is referred to as sub-sea pressure. It is the lowest atmospheric pressure which can be achieved at sea surface with a standard temperature and salinity of 0°C and 30°S respectively. The average sub-sea pressure in deep water basins varies between 1020 torr to 11000 torr (10 Pa to 9 kPa).


301-600 Psi:


301-600 psi is the range of filter pressure which is required to reduce the flow rate below 15 GPM. The higher the filter pressure, generally, the better will be its performance. However, exceeding 600psi can damage some filters and equipment.


The standard filtering process requires a constant upstream filtration pressure of around 35-45 psi and downstream filtration around 0 - 5 psi for proper functioning of filters in both directions (instream & outstream).
