Firefighting materials are the devices and substances used to extinguish or control fires. They include fire extinguishers, hoses, nozzles, and other equipment used by firefighters.
Foam:
Foam is a three-dimensional cellular polymeric material, which is produced by the polymerization of gases such as carbon dioxide, water and ethane. Foams are categorized on the basis of their density (high/low), temperature (cool/heat resistant) and chemical composition.
Liquid:
Liquid is a water based or dilute hydrophobic liquid that is used to extinguish fire. It can be used in various types of fires including cooking, electrical, furniture and chemical. The material which is to be put into the liquid has to be tested for its ability to extinguish fire. There are different tests available which are used by companies according to their requirements and those tests also depend upon the type of fire being fought i.e.
