Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC):


Polyvinyl chloride is a thermoplastic polymer with the formula (CH2)n. It is manufactured from vinyl chloride, which is derived from ethylene and chlorine. It has similar properties as polystyrene but more flexibility. PVC can be dissolved in various solvents such as acetone, ethanol, water or oil to produce solutions called copolymers containing different ratios of vinyl chloride and other monomers such as butadiene or acrylonitrile.
