Product Definition:
A flue gas desulfurization unit, also known as a FGD unit, is a piece of pollution control equipment used to remove sulfur dioxide from the exhaust gases of power stations that burn coal or oil. Dry Flue Gas Desulfurization Unit:
Dry flue gas desulfurization unit is used to remove sulfur from flue gas before it is released into the atmosphere. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) and other compounds are emitted during coal combustion, the dry flue gas desulfurization removes sulfur dioxide before it is released into the atmosphere. The process of removing sulfur dioxide uses a variety of techniques including membrane contactors, coke ovens, electrostatic precipitators and wet scrubbers among others.
Semi-Dry Flue Gas Desulfurization Unit:
Semi-Dry Flue Gas Desulfurization Unit (SDFGDU) is a device used to remove sulfur from flue gas before it is released to the atmosphere. SDFG units are primarily employed in coal-fired power plants for the removal of both hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. The byproduct produced by these devices includes water, carbon monoxide, and other gaseous compounds.
