Liquid film fluoride is a new technology that uses a non-contact approach to measure the concentration of fluoride in water. It works like an ordinary capacitor sensor, where liquid is spread on a membrane and electrical charge is applied. As the liquid spreads over the membrane, it creates an electric field which varies with charges on various parts of the surface. The variation in electric field causes change in capacitance which is then measured by electronics and converted into concentration value (%).


Solid-state Membrane Fluoride Sensor:


A solid-state membrane fluoride sensor is a device used for measuring fluoride in water. It consists of an ion-exchange membrane and a reservoir, which can be made from ceramic or glass. The chemical reaction takes place between the solution and the exchange membrane, causing ions to pass through into the chamber where it is measured.
