A frac pump is a type of high-pressure pump used in hydraulic fracturing. It is also called a "slickwater" pump because it uses water mixed with a proppant (usually sand) to create fractures in the shale rock and release the natural gas or oil inside.

Triplex frac pumps are used to inject fluid three times in a row. It is also known as triple injection pump or TIP. Triplex frac pumps are widely used for the transportation of fluids such as drilling mud, synthetic oil, and water-based emulsion in the oil & gas industry.
