40% (HPLC) is a water-based liquid chromatography mobile phase with the ability to separate and detect molecules based on their molecular weight. It has been used as a standard solvent in the quantification of glabridin, which is an active ingredient in herbal supplements such as ginseng, milk thistle and other plant extracts.
