N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone, also known as NMP or 2-PY, is an organic liquid. It is a colorless and highly flammable liquid with a mild odor. It has a boiling point of 137 °C (280 °F) and a freezing point of -40 °C (–40 °F). NMP is soluble in ethyl ether, acetone, water and ethanol.
