Product Definition:


A grain sorting line is a processing line used to separate different types of grains from each other. The importance of a grain sorting line is that it allows farmers and processors to get the most value for their crops by separating out damaged or low-quality grains.


Optical Sorting Machine:


Optical Sorting Machine (OSM) is a device that sorting different grains of rice by their size and color. OSM finds its application in the grain sorting line where it can be used to sort various grains such as wheat, maize, sorghum, cotton seeds and rice. The optical sorter has two light sources: one source for illuminating the grain and another source for detecting the size of the grain.


Gravity Sorting Machine:


A gravity sorting machine is used in grain sorting line to separate the wheat from the chaff. The grains are first passed through a series of rollers that break up the solid material and then pass through a series of screens where some particles get separated while others remain whole. At this point, if there are any stones or other foreign objects in the grain, they will get stuck in between two rollers and will have to be removed manually.


Application Insights:


The others segment includes barley, rice, and maize. The sorting of these grains by machine is not as easy as the other types due to their larger size and density. Thus, these grains are usually sown in layers or thrashed by hand to separate the good from the bad ones before they are finally milled into flour or polished into polishing agents.


The corn sortation process is one of the most widely used methods across all industries worldwide for separating male plants from female plants so that only fertile seeds can be used for farming purposes while remaining husks/ shells are discarded as waste products.
