4N, also known as tetrafluoroethane, is a non-flammable and colorless liquid. It has a suffocating odor similar to that of chloroform. 4N is the most extensively used refrigerant in the world and accounts for approximately 50% of all refrigerants produced globally.


5N:


5N or pentane is a hydrocarbon with the formula C5H11. It is an organic compound and as such is also classified as an aromatic. 5N has a strong aroma similar to that of gasoline which makes it suitable for use in deicing fluids, fuel additives, and other applications where the smell of gas is undesirable.
