Hydrogenated Glycerol Rosin Ester:


Hydrogenated glycerol rosin ester (HG-RSE) is a waxy, natural vegetable fat that is found in the outer portion of the plant stem and roots. It consists of one or more long-chained fatty acids with a backbone of glycerol molecule. The product has high melting point and low water solubility which makes it ideal for use in heat transfer applications such as wax melt manufacturing.


Hydrogenated Pentaerythritol Rosin Ester:


Hydrogenated pentaerythritol rosin ester (HPE) is a colorless liquid with an odor similar to rancid butter. It is manufactured by the catalytic hydrogenation of paraerythritol. The yield from this reaction is approximately 70% and it has been used as a feedstock for polyurethane foams, adhesives, coatings, and inks.

The application segment includes hot melt adhesives, coatings, pressure sensitive adhesives, tackifier and others. The other applications include food & beverage and personal care products. Coatings were the largest application segment in 2016 accounting for over 40% of the total market revenue. Hydrogenated rosin ester based coatings are used in various end-use industries including automotive, construction and industrial manufacturing on a wide range of substrates such as metals (aluminum), plastics (PVC) wood fiber glass composites paper etc.


Hydrogenated rosin ester based coatings have excellent heat resistance property which is preferred for high temperature applications up to about 200°C They also display good moisture resistance property which makes them suitable for use on wooden substrates or any other substrate that may be exposed to moisture during normal living room humidity levels across the globe.
