Cosmetic grade is the highest quality grade of hydroxyethyl cellulose used in cosmetics. It has a purity level of 99% and contains no additives or fillers. Hydroxyethyl cellulose is produced from the reaction between ethylene oxide and glucose which takes place in an organic solvent such as ethanol.
