Product Definition:


A class of heterocyclic compounds containing a nitrogen atom attached to two carbon atoms, one of which is part of a five-membered ring. Imidazolines are important in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.


2-imidazolines:


Imidazolines are organic compounds derived from the reaction between ammonia and imidazole. They have a nitrogen center (Amide bond) and two amine groups (Nitrogen-based). The compound has a pungent odor similar to that of garlic or rotten eggs. It is usually sold in dry powder form, which is reconstituted with water for injection use.


3-imidazolines:


3-Imidazolines is a chemical compound, which is derived from the amino acid tryptophan. It has a strong smell of ammonia and an equally strong taste of bitterness. The chemical formula for 3-imidazolinesis (NH2)nH2SO4 and it's molecular weight is 132.46.


Application Insights:


The industrial applications of imidazolines include manufacturing of agrochemicals, dyes & pigments, and other chemicals. The product is widely used in the manufacturing of pesticides owing to its excellent solubility and chemical stability. In addition, it has a high potential for use as an intermediate in the production of other agrochemicals.


Imidazoline derivatives are extensively used as pharmaceutical intermediates due to their pharmacological properties such as anticholinergic activity which help treat Parkinson¢â‚¬â„¢s disease symptoms including muscle rigidity and tremors. Furthermore, they exhibit neuroprotective effects against glutamate-induced toxicity in vitro through mechanisms such as inhibition on calcium influx into neurons and prevention from cell death caused by oxygen radicals or excitotoxicity.
