The AC-EAF is a new type of electric arc furnace, which was designed to overcome the limitations of conventional furnaces. It has been developed by modifying the existing design and technology of electric arc furnaces. The primary objective behind this modification was to develop an efficient furnace that can produce steel with high carbon content in less time as compared to its conventional counterparts.
DC-EAF:
DC-EAF is a type of electric arc furnace used in the manufacturing of steel. It uses an electric arc to melt scrap metal or iron ore which is then carried by a conveyor belt into the furnace where it is heated to high temperatures. The molten metal or iron ore then travels through channels in the molten pool where it receives additional heat from electrodes and finally solidifies into bars on cooling plates.
