Horizontal hammermills are used in the paper industry for pulverizing and crushing of materials such as cardboard, paper & wood, plastic bottles, aluminum cans. The material is fed into the machine through a hopper at one end and is discharged at another with the help of a series of rolls.
The horizontal hammermill can be operated either as an independent unit or attached to a vertical mill (iframes).
Vertical Hammermills:
Vertical hammermills are used in the paper industry for pulverizing or breaking down solid materials into small pieces. The material is fed into the top of vertical mill where it is hit by a heavy metal ball, which causes vibrations and friction that break down the material. As soon as the material gets broken, it falls to bottom of mill and continues its journey on different levels through several other sets of mills until it comes out as waste at bottom.
