The thermal method involves heating of pure oxygen in the presence of powdered metal (vanadium) which produces VOx along with other oxides (ZnO, Fe2O3 etc.).


Amorphous Silicon (A-Si):


Amorphous silicon is a type of semiconductor material that has a crystalline appearance and texture like an egg. It’s produced by the process of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using silica and oxygen gas. The material has superior properties such as high thermal conductivity, low electrical resistance, high-temperature stability, etc., which makes it very useful in infrared microbolometers applications.
