Product Definition:
A Kidney Stone Retrieval Device is a medical device that is used to remove kidney stones from the body. The device consists of a small wire mesh basket that is attached to a long metal shaft. The basket is inserted into the urinary tract and used to grab the kidney stones. The stones are then pulled out of the body through the urinary tract.
Lithotripters:
Lithotripters are devices that use light energy to break up and dissociate the stones. They are minimally invasive in nature and hence do not require any surgery. On the basis of mechanism, there are two types of lithotripters available namely; mechanical lithotripsy and focused ultrasound lithotripsy.
Stone Removal Devices:
The stone removal devices are used for the purpose of removing kidney stones. It is a semi-rigid, hollow tube that is inserted into the ureter to retrieve the stones. The device consists of an outer diameter sized to match the size of a particular kidney stone and then gets closed at both ends. The fluid pressure in one end is increased by means of inflation while simultaneously, suction force generated in other end removes or draws out the stone along with its attached fluids through tube.

The hospital application segment dominated the overall market in terms of revenue in 2017.
