Sodium chromate is a chemical compound of lead and chromium with the formula (PbCr)2. It has a bright yellow color, high solubility in water, and good thermal stability. Lead chromate is used as an additive to gasoline to improve its anti-knocking performance; it also finds application as an anticaking agent for sugar; in batteries for increasing their capacity; and in match heads for making them brighter.
Potassium Chromate:
Potassium chromate is a chemical compound of lead and potassium. It has a bright yellow color and is very soluble in water. It can also be found in nature as hexavalent lead (Pb3) which occurs with varying amounts of iron, magnesium, calcium, and zinc. The major application of Pb3 is as an Olympic material for the creation of samples for testing athletes’ urine; it gives a greenish-yellow color when exposed to air or light.
