Thrust sliding bearings are used in applications where the axial or radial force is low and the rolling resistance is high. The bearing consists of a cylindrical raceway, which slides on an axle with no rolling contact between the raceway and the axle. The plain lead-free resin-based bearings have a cylindrical outer race that has been machined to fit flush with an inner race, which is also referred to as shoulder or seat.
