Single-level-cell (SLC) is a type of flash memory which uses charge carriers to store data. SLC is made up of two floating gate transistors, one controlling the write and other the read operation. The stored information can be either in the form of digital data or analog values.
The technology has several advantages over traditional flash memory; it requires less chip area, consumes lower power and has faster reading and writing speeds than NAND flash memory.
Through Hole Type:
The through hole type is also known as front side bus. It is a method of installing components in an IC where the wires going into the component and coming out of it are passed through a single opening in the dielectric or silicon surface. The size and shape of this opening can be controlled by changing the shape and size of jumpers or capacitors present on either side of it.
