Light Sheet Fluorescence Microscopy is a microscopy technique that uses a thin sheet of light to image specimens. DiSPIM (Differentiated Spinal Intercellular Protein Matrix) is a protein that acts as an extracellular matrix in the central nervous system. It was identified as a novel biomarker for multiple sclerosis and neurodegenerative disorders by researchers at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. The study was published in July 2018, in the journal Neurochemical Research.
