Liquid Electrolyte:

Solid Electrolyte:
Solid electrolyte is a non-fluid, non-aqueous phase present between the electrodes in a lithium battery. The solid electrolyte acts as an insulator to prevent direct contact between electrode and current collector, which results into low self-discharge of batteries; whereas liquid electrolytes allow contact between the electrodes and current collectors resulting into high self-discharge of batteries.
