Plate - fin Heat Exchanger:


Plate - fin heat exchanger is a device used in gas liquefaction process. It is also known as cold plate or hot plate heat exchanger depending upon the temperature of fluids passing through it. The working principle of this device is very simple, as the name suggests, it consists of two plates which are separated by an insulating medium and then fluid having a lower or higher temperature than the medium is passed between these two plates whereafter both sides are made equalized.
