Pyrolusite:


Pyrolusite is a mineral, which contains manganese and iron. It occurs in crystalline form with an orthorhombic structure. The color of pyrolusite varies between yellow-red to orange-red depending upon the amount of manganese and iron it contains. It has a hardness on account of its composition; it is softer than talc but harder than flint glass.
