Pneumatic fenders are used in the marine industry to protect the ship and it's cargo from collisions. They are also used for maneuvering the vessel in tight spaces. The pneumatic fender system consists of a flexible hose, connected to a compressor that is mounted on board or onshore, and is attached to an airbag that is deployed by pressing a button.


The compressed airbags create a low pressure area around the ship which helps in pushing back vessels.
