A medical uroflowmeter is a device used to measure the rate of urine flow. It is commonly used to diagnose and track urinary tract problems, such as urinary retention or bladder outlet obstruction.


Wireless:


Wireless uroflowmetry is a technique where the signals are transmitted from one place to another without any wires. It uses radiofrequency (RF) waves for communication. The RF signal is generated by an external device that measures urine flow through a thin wire and transmits the data to an RF detector, which converts it into digital form and displays it on the screen of a computer or printer.


Wired:


Wired uroflowmetry is a diagnostic procedure that measures urine flow rate through a catheter. It is an invasive procedure and involves insertion of a wire into the bladder via cystoscopy. The other end of the wire (ankle) is connected to an electronic device that records urine volume and pressure.
