A microfiltration filter is a type of water filter that uses tiny pores to remove particles from water. This type of filter is often used in high-end coffee machines and other appliances that require clean water. The importance of a microfiltration filter is that it can remove very small particles from the water, making it ideal for use in appliances that require purer water.


Bilayer Microfiltration Filter:


Bilayer microfiltration filters are thin layers of nonwoven fabric, which are used as a barrier to particles in food and beverages. They have the ability to remove around 99.97% of bacteria and around 70-80% of viruses from liquid products with the help of their physical structure that acts as a barrier for harmful contaminants.


Trilayer Microfiltration Filter:


Trilayer microfiltration filters are made up of three layers; the top layer is made of nonwoven material such as polypropylene or polyester, the middle layer is made from an inert material such as ceramic and the bottom layer consists of a hydrophobic polymer. The top and middle layers are placed in between two sheets of plastic film which forms a seal around it.


Application Insights:


The consumer electronics segment held the largest market share of over 30% in 2017. The growth can be attributed to rising demand for smartphones and tablets across the globe.
