Ground-based:
Ground-based laser target designator (GBL TD) is a device used by the military to direct an aircraft or ground-mobile laser at a designated point. It uses lasers for both, tracking and marking targets. The term “ground” in the name does not refer to any surface feature as such but rather it refers to the fact that these systems are deployed on Earth/the ground.
