Product Definition:


Monolaurin is a monoglyceride derivative of lauric acid, found in coconut oil and other plant oils. It has antibacterial, antiviral, and antiprotozoal activity. Monolaurin is also effective against lipid-coated viruses such as HIV, herpes simplex virus (HSV), and cytomegalovirus (CMV).


Paste:


Paste is a concentrated form of lauric acid, which is found in breast milk. It has been used as an antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal agent for thousands of years. Paste has many uses in the pharmaceutical industry; it can be used to treat viral infections like chickenpox and measles, bacterial skin infections like furunculosis and necrotizing pneumonia (pneumonia) among others.


It can also be used to treat some parasitic diseases like malaria.


Pastille:


Pastille is a form of trans-laurin which has been used in the manufacturing of monolaurin. It is also known as lauroyl pastillic acid or 1,25 d-lactone. The chemical structure for pastille is very similar to that of monolaurin and it’s molecular size is around 200-250 Da.

Facial care was the largest application segment in 2017 and is expected to witness a CAGR of XX% over the forecast period.
