Product Definition:


Offset printing blankets are an important part of the offset lithography process. They are used to transfer the image from the printing plate to the paper.


Compressible Blankets:


Compressible blankets are used in offset printing to decrease the size of the printed image. The process is done by using a flexible material that can be easily compressed into a small space and then it is rebound into its original form once the printing process is over. These blankets are made up of different materials such as plastic, rubber, foams among others and their properties to compress vary accordingly.


Conventional Blankets:


Conventional blankets are made up of synthetic fibers, which are much cheaper than natural fibers. Synthetic fiber is also known as a man-made product and has the same characteristics and properties as that of natural fiber. Conventional blankets have higher tensile strength, durability, less flammable than organic counterparts; they can be used in all types of printing processes including screen printing, flexography, letterpress printmaking etc.

The packaging application segment led the global offset printing blankets market in 2017. The growth can be attributed to the rising demand for packaged food and beverages across the globe. Conventional offset printing technology is being replaced by digital technologies, which offer various advantages including higher speed, better quality and more flexibility.
