Single seal is a device used in the oil and gas industry to prevent the flow of formation fluids such as water, sand, or mud through open channels. Single seals are also referred to as one-way valves. They can be either manual or automatic and are installed in places where it is not desirable to use an expulsometer (for example, near high pressure points). The single seal has two main components namely sealing lip and valve seat.
Double Seal:
Double seal is a device used in the processing of oil and gas. It consists of two O-rings, one on each side, which are connected by an elastomeric material such as silicone or rubber. The double seal is designed to provide a water tight barrier between two components in an oil and gas system.
The primary function of the double seal is to prevent any loss of fluid due to contamination from entering into other components within the system.

The crude oil seal processes the lighter fractions of sour, low-quality crudes while the natural gas double-seal processes both light sweet as well as sour grades of natural gas.
