End-emitting fibers are capable of delivering up to 10 Gbps data rates over a distance of approximately 20 kilometers.


Edge-emitting Fiber:


Edge-emitting fiber (EEF) is a new optical fiber lighting technology that emits light at the edge of the core. The advantage of EEF over other Fiber To The Home (FTTH) technologies is that it can deliver up to 1 Gbps data throughput, which makes it suitable for high-speed broadband applications such as video on demand, video streaming and online gaming.
