Originated From Cotton:


Cotton is a soft and fluffy staple fiber derived from the protective casing known as boll that surrounds the cotton seeds. Cotton is one of the most versatile natural fibers in terms of applications owing to its mechanical, physical, and chemical properties. It has high tensile strength but low breaking point; it can be easily drawn out into yarns of any desired length but cannot be broken or cut apart.


Originated From Other:


The other is derived from the plant cell wall and it includes lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose. The major application of the other is in biofuels production. It has been estimated that about 10% to 25% of global transportation fuel could be replaced by wood-derived fuels over the next decade which will have a positive impact on market growth.


Application Insights:


The other application segment includes pulp and paper, textile, paints and coatings, adhesives and sealants, leather processing, mining wastes management materials. Oxidized cellulose is used as a filler in the manufacturing of paints and coatings. The product is also used to improve the flowability of paint films during application by providing lubrication to the film surface. It acts as an anti-settling agent for water-based formulations thereby preventing rheological changes that may lead to film cracking or peeling off.
